Digital Medium is Goldmine for Marketers.
Your consumers have evolved and they seamlessly move from one medium to another. They read ads in newspaper, watch a TV commercial, see a hoarding, and participate in contest at a ‘brand stall’ in a mall but when they want to buy a product, service or solution. They rely on one medium which is Internet, also called online or Digital medium. They seek ‘more’ information, conduct research, do product comparison, look for reviews and feedback, and check for support and so on. Today’s marketer cannot afford to miss this most promising interactive & two way communication medium. I can personally guarantee you that you will witness the results; be it generating leads, increasing the sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, creating awareness, managing reputation and so on. Past four months while I was exploring this new medium with the help of a leading Digital Marketing experts I discovered a Goldmine! Thus I thought I should share my thoughts and strongly feel that every marketer should enter this goldmine, earlier the better. In other words it is now or never!
Seeing is believing. My Experience.
I was a traditional B2B marketer till Q4 2012. But being a change marketer I was always curious about this new medium and probably the first to open accounts and create profile pages on LinkedIn, Twitter etc. only to realize that all these years I missed big opportunity to generate leads, build business relationship and brand using this medium. In November 2012, I was exposed to e-mail marketing in the company I am working for. To my surprise e-mail marketing is an amazing and very effective channel to generate leads. I used a powerful marketing automation tool called Marketo which provides excellent campaign management, reporting and analytics capabilities. I have been able to drive 1000+ prospects to our website, generated around 200+ leads in two quarters. Looking at this, I went on to discover other digital marketing channels which is Search Engine Marketing (includes SEO+ PPC), Social Media Marketing, Digital Display Advertising and Mobile marketing. Beauty of digital media marketing is its ability to track, monitor, measure, report and analyze. There are wonderful tools like Google Analytics and Social Media Analytics. The subject is vast and exciting I am still uncovering interesting usefulness and usability of Digital Media marketing. Will share my thoughts and experience on other online media channels in forthcoming blogs.

Look at this mind boggling data. There are 21 million in India who are estimated to visit social media channels regularly which is 60.3% of the total active Indian internet audience. Social Media visitors spend 110.4 minutes on the site and makes 10.4 visits a month to a social network. Social media websites in India growing by almost 100% year after year. This clearly indicates your consumers are fast moving to Digital Medium. Are you? Summary:
This new age medium is most promising, more effective and highly result oriented due to its very characteristics such as interactivity (two way communication) , Listening power, consumer driven in terms of consumers interests and preferences. Opportunity to engage etc. There is massive adoption of this medium by consumers. In fact it looks like consumers are understanding the importance of this medium (from their perspective) than that of businesses in India. From a marketer perspective, it is high time we harness the power of Digital Media Marketing and adopt it as core driver of organizations marketing strategy. In simple words it is goldmine for marketers and how much you mine gold depends on how best you explore this medium.
